Turkish mobility start-up Togg unveiled a new concept car at Consumer Electronic Technology (CES) in Las Vegas, which the company said “will bring together advanced electric, autonomous and connected technologies within a single sphere. Design “.
Togg has big ambitions, with the goal of producing one million vehicles in five segments by 2030. The first should arrive at the end of 2022; and the company has ambitions to follow it up with a mid-size ‘e-SUV’ in the first months of 2023. Togg CEO Gürcan KarakaÅŸ says it will be “the first electric SUV produced in mainland Europe by a non-traditional builder. “
The Togg SUV concept was designed with input from Italian design firm Pininfarina, and the first images show what appears to be a sleek but rather conventional approach to the interior and exterior.
The Togg logo would represent the fusion of East and West, with two arrows forming a gemstone in the center. With regard to the claims of the brand, it is on the technological side that we risk finding the most radical innovations.
These models will be followed by a C-segment sedan and hatchback, as well as a small SUV and midsize MPV in the “coming years”, with all five models “sharing the same DNA”. The batteries for the all-electric models will be manufactured in-house as part of a joint venture with the Chinese battery manufacturer Farasis Energy. The company plans to supply batteries not only for electric vehicles, but also for non-automotive sectors, such as energy storage for home environments.
This brand new concept connects a range of smart devices and technologies together, to create what is described as a “mobility ecosystemâ€. Togg also promised that this new concept of mobility will be “smart, user-centric and even empathetic towards usersâ€. The brand’s UseCase Mobility concept, which purports to embody these characteristics, was created as a result of research with over 2,000 people and over 30 focus groups and interviews.
