Tata Avinya, the brand new electric SUV concept from the local automaker, has finally made its debut in India. This is the brand’s first concept model based on the Generation 3 architecture – ‘Born Electric’ – which supports multiple body styles. The automaker says, “It’s intuitive, smart and non-intrusive. Will have advanced features like ADAS. The new architecture will provide more space in the cabin with the same footprint.

Tata’s Born Electric is a purely electric skateboard platform that allows the designer to use “best weight and space efficiency”. Similar to conventional skateboard architecture, it has a long wheelbase to accommodate a large battery. The production version of the Avinya EV will experience a market launch in 2025.

The new concept of Tata Avinya electric SUV carries sedan-like stance and said to offer practicality of a minivan and a crossing. It looks quite aggressive from the front with a massive closed grille and new LED headlights with LED light signature. Sleek alloy wheels that are pronounced towards the outer edges, body cladding and bold shoulder creases enhance its side profile. Tata’s new concept electric SUV has a well-designed rear with a massive black bumper.

Official images reveal his lounge-style interior. It has a unique design direction with an integrated display unit. The cabin looks quite spacious. Powertrain details for the all-new Tata Avinya EV have yet to be revealed. The company aims to provide a 500km electric range for all its future electric vehicles which will be designed on its Gen 3 platform.

On top of that, the local automaker is reportedly working on a new electric SUV that will match the Harrier. Since Harrier’s Omega Arch platform is difficult to electrify, the company will use its new skateboard architecture for its future electric vehicles. In fact, the Electric SUV the size of Tata Harrier (code name – Eturna) received production approval from senior officials. The model is expected to hit the road in its production avatar in early 2025.

This year, Tata Motors will introduce three new electric cars, including the long-range Nexon EV, the long-range Tigor EV and the Altroz ​​EV. The official launch date and details of these aforementioned electric cars have yet to be revealed by the automaker.
